Trams are not a funding priority

Labour’s Malcolm Chisholm has branded the council’s plan to terminate the airport  tram line at York place, rather than Leith as ‘unacceptable’.

Really?

Politics are about priorities.

Let me summarise: the councils finances are a mess, the size of the funding black hole is around £90million, we are facing considerable funding cuts coupled with increases in costs of delivering services, hundreds may lose their jobs and the councils remaining borrowing powers can best be described as “limited”.

And yet Labour still sees Edinburgh’s first priority as getting the tram line to Leith.

You have to ask, how on earth did the trams ever get up the funding priority list anyway?

Somebody has to stop Labour and its obsession with the trams.
